The highest mountains of the Carpathian arc with unique natural beauty, unique flora and fauna, excellent climate, center of winter and summer sports, recreation, tourism, spa treatment, but also protected the Tatra National Park with the largest number of indigenous plant and animal species (endemic) in Carpathians.
High Tatras is located on the northern part of Slovakia, on the border with Poland.
The length of the main ridge of the High Tatras is 27 km. The main ridge ends at the south side combs. They are the most important signs - Krivan (2494 m), pointed and upturned (2535 m), Gerlach (2655 m), Slavkovský Peak (2452 m), Lomnicky (2632 m).

There are still a number of short ridges, lies between 35 valleys. On the north side is the longest valley Bielovodska, Dill Valley to the south. In almost every valley there is one or more lakes - lakes. In Slovakia there are about 3000 species of plants from which the territory of the Tatra Mountains can be found around the 1300th They are distributed in zones according to altitude.
